A graduate in Chemistry from the University of Milan, Federica Trupiano is a qualified Patent and Trademark Attorney before the Italian Patent and Trademark Office (UIBM), European Patent Attorney before the European Patent Office (EPO), European Union Trademark and Design Attorney (EUIPO), and a qualified Patent Litigator before the Unified Patent Court (UPC). She also holds the DESU diploma in “Contentieux des brevets en Europe” from the University of Strasbourg. In 1991 She joined the firm Brevetti Europa as an industrial property consultant. Following the merger between the latter and Marietti e Gislon, she became a founding partner of the firm in 2001. She is also a founding partner of Torner, Juncosa i Associats in Barcelona.
With over 20 years of experience in Industrial Property, she focuses on the fields of chemistry, pharmaceutical chemistry, biotechnology, sequence listing preparation and plant variety protection. Her activities include assessing the patentability of inventions, drafting and prosecuting patent applications nationally and internationally, drafting Freedom to Operate (FTO) and providing technical advice in patent litigation cases.
She has been a lecturer at the Master in Industrial Property at the University of Milan and has taught numerous courses on Intellectual Property for public organizations and private companies. She has also taught high-school Chemistry.
