Ing. Andrea Marietti

With a degree in Industrial Engineering from the Politecnico of Milan, Andrea Marietti is a patent attorney before the Italian Patent and Trademark Office (UIBM), a qualified patent attorney before the European Patent Office (EPO) and a patent litigator before the Unified Patent Court (UPC). He holds a DESU diploma in “Contentieux des brevets en Europe” from the University of Strasbourg.

He joined Marietti e Gislon in 1998 as a consultant and is now a partner in the firm, where he continues to practice. He is also one of the founding partners of Torner, Juncosa i Associats in Barcelona and Fabiano, Franke & MGT in Lugano. With more than twenty-five years of experience in the field, Mr Marietti deals with technical consultancy in patent matters, particularly in the fields of engineering, mechanics and industrial technology. His expertise includes drafting and prosecution of Italian and foreign patent applications, preparation of Freedom to Operate (FTO), prior art searches, handling oppositions and appeals, and technical assistance in national and international litigation.

Andrea Marietti has particular experience in technical consultancy as a Party Technical Consultant (CTP) and as an Office Technical Consultant (CTU) for the Court of Milan in patent matters. In addition, he is a lecturer at the Politecnico of Milan for the preparation course for the Patent Attorney Examination and for the European Patent Litigation Certificate course.
